From the Garden: Where Every Design Begins
Long before the first flower is placed on a table or the first sketch is drawn, you’ll usually find me in the garden.
It’s where I slow down. It’s where I observe. And more often than not, it’s where the ideas for our work begin.
While Simplicity in Mind is known for designing weddings, intimate gatherings, editorial productions, and brand experiences, so much of what we create is rooted in the lessons nature quietly teaches us every day. A garden isn’t just a collection of plants—it’s composition. It’s balance. It’s movement, texture, scale, and seasonality. It reminds us that beautiful design doesn’t happen all at once. It unfolds layer by layer, with intention and patience.
When I’m planning what to grow each season, I’m not simply thinking about flowers. I’m noticing how colors interact in changing light, how textures soften one another, and how each plant contributes to the landscape as a whole. Those same observations find their way into the events we design, the editorials we produce, and the spaces we create for our clients.
This year, my own garden is becoming more than a personal project—it’s becoming an extension of our studio. A place to experiment with color, gather inspiration, and reconnect with the creative process beyond a computer screen.
From the Garden is where I’ll share that journey.
You’ll find seasonal blooms, behind-the-scenes moments, design inspiration, garden projects, entertaining ideas, and the small details that continue to shape the work we create.
Because sometimes the most meaningful ideas don’t begin at a desk. They begin in the garden.
