Simplicity in Mind is a floral & event design studio based in Cold Spring, NY. Specializing in artful storytelling through flowers, vintage details & immersive design. Founded by Rachel Calvelli, the studio was born from a deep love of nature, history, and the belief that beauty is found in thoughtful intention.
Rachel’s background is in visual design starting with her time at Bloomingdale’s where she designed for leading industry brands to craft immersive spacial layouts and display installations. In 2016, she opened her own vintage-inspired chain of boutiques & quickly became known for her romantic floral displays and ever changing window designs that blurred the lines between art and commerce.
What began as styling her storefronts with florals organically blossomed into a full-service floral design business by 2019. With each wedding, Rachel brought her editorial eye and background in spatial planing to create beautiful environments for her clients.
As our clients needs have evolved, the expansion into full event design was the natural next step.
About the Studio
Rachel currently designs and operates her business out of her grandfather’s childhood home- a space filled with family history. Her great grandfather & his children were beloved staples in the Cold Spring community, selling fresh produce out of the very building that now houses Simplicity in Mind’s floral studio. That legacy of craftsmanship and connection lives on through every event we create- rooted in memory, inspired by nature & designed to feel both timeless and deeply personal.
